📖 A Prayer For You & (A Thank You Giveaway)
I’m not sure I have the words for this week. But I’m sure going to try.
This week, with your help, we brought To Light Their Way into the world. I’m in absolute awe that this collection of prayers hit No. 1 in Bestselling Christian Devotionals and has already made its way into a…second printing.
While I’m blown away by the numbers, I’m deeply moved by the photos and messages I’ve received from you. Parents and teachers and pastors and caregivers around the world who have begun to flip through the pages, finding themselves reflected on the page and in the prayers.
What a gift. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: These prayers are yours.
Also…we interacted so much over at @liturgiesforparents that Instagram flagged me as a bot. I’m not even kidding. So…that giveaway I was going to do on social media? Welp. We’re doing it here now. (Thanks for being here!)
A giveaway for you
To thank you for every share, every preorder, every gift you will give to friends and family, my publisher and I want to send a gift collection to one of you. It includes:
A hardcover copy of To Light Their Way: A Collection of Prayers & Liturgies for Parents
A Bright Endeavors Honey Vanilla soy candle, hand-poured by young moms in job training in Chicago
A gold-foil Light The Way matchbox
A wooden holding cross
A frameable art print from the book
We’ll draw a winner on Monday. Thank you to Tyndale for making this giveaway possible.
A Digital Book Tour
As I mentioned before, I had a chance to do a bit of a virtual book tour across the Interwebs with some friends. No one could have known that both Instagram & Facebook would be down all day Monday, but we still made things work. Social media plays a huge role in authors sharing their work. I hope these conversations minister to your soul as much as they did to me.
Here are the links if you’d like to catch up. (I’d also like to extend a special congratulations to my dear friend and fellow author Aundi Kolber, who shared a launch day with me for her Try Softer guided workbook. I wholeheartedly recommend it.)
As you watch, you may notice that we often found ourselves praying together over a liturgy from the book. I hope it speaks to your heart, too.
A Prayer for A Grateful Spirit
I don’t know what the future holds, but as much as I love sharing about this book, I’m already feeling that stirring to get back into those rhythms of writing and sharing prayers and connecting more and more with the real-life women and men who are praying alongside me, even from afar.
Here’s a scan of “A Prayer for a Grateful Spirit” from the Prayers for Nurturing Faith and Character section of To Light Their Way.
Thinking about gifts?
As you’ve probably heard, supply-chain issues are very real. If you’re thinking To Light Their Way may be a go-to Christmas/baby shower/teacher gift, you may want to order them now so they come in plenty of time.
If podcasts are your thing…
I consider myself an extroverted contemplative, so it’s been a gift to get to hop on podcast interviews with dear hearts across the country to explore themes of prayer and seeing God in all things.
Here are some places I’ve had the joy of (virtually) visiting this week:
Most of all, thank you.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for supporting my work. There’s so much more to share but this email is entirely too long already.
Please know I’m only a message away. It’s my honor to pray for you and with you.
May all your life be a prayer,
PS: Don’t forget to enter the giveaway! (And yes, it’s okay to share with a friend.)
